I had a phone call with HR, followed by an in-person interview with the hiring manager. After talking through my resume and relevant experience, the interviewer very pointedly asked during”What year did you graduate college?” I’m 49 and have left this information off of my resume. While not technically illegal, this question felt like an inappropriate way to fish for my age. Just a warning to older applicants.
I applied through university. I interviewed at HNI in Oct 2024
Interview
There are two stages: the first stage is a over the phone interview, and then the second stage is an in-person interview. The second stage is a more in-depth interview about what you can bring to the company.
