The initial steps of the hiring process seemed insulting to me, so I bailed of my own accord before being offered an interview.
After submitting my initial application, I was sent an email asking me to do a quick grammar test (editing 10 sentences for spelling and grammar). Even though this email addressed me by the wrong name and was (ironically) filled with typos, I did the test. I quickly received a second email asking me to do a three hour online writing test (with horribly unclear directions). Maybe I'm being arrogant, but I think the courteous thing for an employer to do after reviewing an application (and, sure, a quick grammar test to check if I'm a competent writer/editor) would be to give me a call and express some interest in me as a candidate, maybe even offer to have me come in to the office for the writing test. Even if this job is one of few in the legal field that are open to those with no legal experience, Hudson should not assume that all of its applicants are so desperate to work for them.
