I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Guardian Life (Holmdel, NJ) in Jan 2024
Interview
Phone call with recruiter followed by a virtual interview where I recorded myself answering questions. Then followed up with a technical interview. The technical interview included talking about my past experience and then followed by probably 20-30 questions about Java fundamentals. It felt like they were reading questions off of a "Top 50 Java Interview Questions" website and they did not seem prepared. I was expecting a traditional technical leetcode style interview and was told there would be live coding (there wasn't) so the interview did not go too well. Recruiter was nice, interviewers were pretty bland and uninterested. Overall, not the greatest experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions like what is OOP, variable permissions, Java keywords, inheritance, polymorphism, abstract classes, data structures and their differences, collections, stuff about strings, how you would make a java program, how you would test it, etc. Too many nuanced Java questions IMO
