I had a phone screening with their recruiter who spent a good deal of time pointing out that Guardian "promotes from within" and that most of their workforce have been there long-term having moved up from other positions. This was the first red flag, as this seemed like an admission that the position has already been filled internally and I was just being screened in order to check off the EEO compliance box. My suspicion was confirmed when I met with their team, and it was like meeting with three robots. Each one spoke word-for-word from a script (I literally could see their faces move from right to left as they read from their screens) making it seem more like an interrogation than an interview, and it never evolved into a real discussion. The final red flag was at the end when we still had about 15 minutes remaining and I assumed I was going to use this time to share my design samples -- nope, they weren't interested at all, with the one coldy saying I can email the file to them "if you want to" which, to me, seems like another admission of disinterest. (I'd like to point out that I currently have a part-time "gig," i.e., if I don't work then I don't get paid, and I lost an hour's pay to attend this meeting.)
