I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Greenspire
Interview
I really appreciated how quick, yet thorough the interview process was. I applied to a posting for the Management Trainee position I found on Indeed.com. The very next day I received an email from Greenspire letting me know they had the opportunity to review my resume and wanted to invite me in for an interview. I did my research on the company before applying and was really impressed with their goals of providing an education to homeowners on these environmental and money-saving initiatives.
When I got to their main headquarters in Santa Monica, I was very impressed by their building. It's a very open and social environment and had a great atmosphere to it (the setup itself and the upbeat appearance of the employees). I interviewed with the Director of Human Resources for the first round. She really took time to help explain a lot about the company and how they conduct their business, the training they provide to prepare each individual properly for their role, and the growth opportunities available. She didn't just drill me with questions the whole time, like I've experienced on other interviews.
I was selected for a second round interview, which was conducted the very next day. In this interview I got to meet with the General Manager and he went into even more detail about the company and the specifics of the position. I love the fact that they provide so much training for this position. I have had some management experience, but this is a completely new industry for me, so I like that I would go through learning everything from the bottom up.
Unfortunately, I was not selected to fill this role. However, the Human Resources staff made it clear that they would be continuing interviews in the future to open more districts. I absolutely plan to reach out to them again in the future. I would love to work for a company with such a positive and inspiring message and to really get hands on training to make me a well-rounded manager in such an up and coming industry. Regardless of the result, I appreciate the time they took to me with me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
After explaining the details about the company and the role, she asked why I would be a good fit. This is a fairly general question, but it made me really think about how to properly communicate my experience and how it would transfer over through the training.
We appreciate you response! We try to be as thorough as possible through the interview process to give our candidates a positive experience. Thank you for your interest in our company.
