Thank you for taking the time to share your experience interviewing with our company. It’s important for potential candidates to be exposed to how we work and for us to be exposed to how potential employees work before making the important decision about working together.
Our "working interview" is designed for both parties to try each other out. We do this for every position in our organization. The "working interview" days are all paid and for developer candidates, we give a mock project to work on so that we can evaluate their work ethic, coding skills, problem solving ability, kindergarten skills (plays well with others) and a general impression for culture fit. The candidate gets to experience our work environment first hand and we both get to the experience of working in it for the first time.
Because a mis-hire is an expensive and painful process for both the person and the company (especially through recruiters) we work very hard to look for evidence of culture mismatches as quickly as possible and act accordingly.
