I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Grab in Jun 2026
Interview
R1: asked the fundamental questions in 25mins, and then I was asked to write an API design—covering everything from parsing to the UI—within about 30 mins. There was no code completion support, and I had to start creating files from scratch. It was nothing like the LeetCode algorithm questions mentioned during the interview process or by HR. Very disappointed.

Question 1
The fundamental questions like lifecycle are easy. but the code part is awful.
I have attended the online test via Codility. The level of interview was awesome. Totally three questions to be solved in 120 mins. One is Basic programming skill test. Next two questions are about the architecture & logical programming questions.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Grab (Kuala Lumpur) in Feb 2019
Interview
The interview process is not at all streamlined. I had a Codility round, followed by 2 technical rounds with Android Engineer, followed by one final round with Engineering Manager and it took 2 months after me following up with the Grab team. Not that all, I dint hear from Grab for 2 more months and then got another mail that I have another final round of interview with Engineering Manager. After this round, I again had to follow up asking the result and got an email that they have decided not to proceed. After 5 months, me following up with the team multiple times and 2 final rounds which were preceded by multiple technical rounds, is total waste of energy and time. I do not understand why do they send an email of final round followed by another email of another final round. I felt second final round was conducted just to reject me.
During the entire process I had conversations with multiple HR's and each was not aware of the previous conversations.
I hope they streamline the process and inform the candidates in advance of number of rounds.
