I applied online. I interviewed at Goldbelly in Dec 2023
Interview
Interviewed with the recruiter and hiring manager. Standard questions about your background and skills. Next was a take home assessment on a recommendation engine problem. I’ve spent most of my career on these problems and provided a comprehensive write up and code but was rejected the next day. They are likely fishing for free code and ideas so I would avoid this company. Having someone spend hours on an assessment and not provide them feedback is unacceptable.

Interview
The interview process started with a recruiter screen. The recruiter started out by asking me my comp expectations, specifically the "minimum cash comp I would expect" which I wasn't willing to answer given we hadn't yet discussed the scope or responsibilities of the role. They didn't want to continue with the interview without me pre-committing to a cash comp level, so we ended the interview
