1- The selection process starts with an initial van drive, followed by a Q & A about you and why you want to be a bus driver.
2- If successful, an invitation will be sent to you to undertake a simple literacy assessment online.
3- If successful, then an interview online or face-to-face in the Go-Ahead London Academy.
4: When successful, an offer will be made subject to passing the PCV theory tests. The tests are online, and you will have a class to attend to pass them all. Suppose you are lucky enough to be enrolled in the apprenticeship program. In that case, Go-Ahead will pay all costs, and you will receive a salary of £10.85 per hour with 38 hours guaranteed per week from day one! As soon as you pass the tests and achieve the PCV, you will be transferred to your local garage, where the rate will be £13.75 per hour and increase to £16.82 per hour in a few years.
I want to mention that you can feel that you belong to a caring family. From recruitment to training to exams and the garage, you will have coaches taking you step by step. I cannot thank Tash (Natasha Turner) enough for what she has done to motivate me to pass my practical and Mod 3 and 4 exams. Nor the entire HR and training management team.
This company is worth working for, and the least to say is that you are not just a driver or a number on the payroll.
I always thought that a bus driver's job was limited to old folks. I was wrong, LOL. Many young ladies, and I emphasise ladies, are in the service.
The company does not discriminate against anyone. They have drivers from all different backgrounds: age, race, religion, etc. It's a dream company, but no one has bothered to talk about it!
If you like my feedback, please mention my name in the application so I can benefit from £600 if you join the crowd. So do you. Invite anyone you know to be willing to become a bus driver, and you will be rewarded with £600 per applicant!
