I am going to sum up the interview with a few words. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I applied for a role in September 2022 and managed to secure my first interview. The absolute carnage that ensued was ridiculous. So first, the head game developer turned up to the remote interview, I will just say this he was really nice and continued to be great throughout the interview. However, the composer showed up to the interview and things went down hill super quickly, first of all he looked like he didn't want to be there and he had a very dismissive tone. I could tell they were both exhausted / had to much work on their hands. We went through experience and stuff like that and then he started asking really weird questions like… Do you have a calibrated studio? How would you put up sound proofing in your rented home? Like sorry I am not able to afford to buy a house / a calibrated studio. The other Employee (none nice) had a flashy studio in north London which could be worth millions and very obviously didn't need to grind his way to that place (bought for him) I said things like cool you are a composer do you use konakt instruments and he said 'sometimes but I like to do things the PROPER way' like inferring that kontkat is a bad way to do things. It's industry standard? And to top it all off he was VAPING in the interview how unprofessional is that! It was so bad that even when the composer disconnected a few times, the other head developer was like you don't need a calibrated studio ignore that. ummm…WHAT. They offered me a tech test but I declined and they were so shocked that I declined it. I sent a email back explaining everything that was horrible with the interview. You should be excited for the interviews after not dreading the next one. Needless to say they hired someone 6 months later he left after 3. Show what the company is like. Everyone who I know in the industry as said avoid this company at all costs. Huge red flags! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
