I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Glasgow Promotions (Glasgow, Scotland) in Aug 2016
Interview
I met with the MD, David in a rather unconventional location as he said they were waiting to move into a new office space. Despite my initial hesitation at attending an interview in a coffee shop, David was very professional and the job description peaked my interest.
The interview process is three stages. The first was just a quick chat, basically explaining about what I had done before, what i was looking for in a new role and my goals for the future. During the first interview David explained about the type of events Glasgow Promotions conduct, how the market for their clients and upward mobility within the company etc.
After the first interview I received a telephone call later on that evening explaining that they felt my personality and transferable skills could make me a good match for the role and I was invited to attend a second interview, observation day. On the observation I shadowed one of the representatives as they worked at an event. It was good to experience first hand how the firm conducts their events as it gave me a thorough insight into what my role would be should I be successful. I was given a number of tasks throughout the day to assess my ability to learn and retain information etc. At the end of the day I met with David once more for a final interview. At this stage we discussed the observation day, pay, hours, benefits and I had the opportunity to ask any questions.
Overall it was a really good experience, very different to any other interviews I had attended.
