I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences in Aug 2021
Interview
Bottom line up front: Got ghosted. Terrible candidate experience!
In August 2021 I was reached out by a recruiter at a virtual job fair and had a very pleasant phone screening. Then the recruiter forwarded me to a video interview. Had the said video interview with a manager a couple days later and that also went very smoothly. The manager hyped me up about all the benefits that Gilead offered and how I would be a good fit. Then the manager explained that he would need to talk to the hiring manager and he would get back to me as soon as he can. Then poof!!! he ghosts me. Complete radio silence. I waited two weeks and sent a follow up email. Heard nothing. I reached out to the recruiter. Still nothing.
So I combed through Glassdoor to see if anyone had a simliar experience like mine and well well well I see a review back from APRIL that echoes exactly what happened to me for the SAME position! If this position had been open for so many months and if its still not filled, clearly there is something wrong with the hiring pipeline. WHY are you wasting job seekers' precious time with interviews instead of taking care of that problem first?
If I was a not a good fit for the company, that is totally understandable, but you as a company owe candidates a rejection email at minimum instead of completely ghosting them. ESPECIALLY when it was the recruiter that proactively reached out to the candidate first!
Worst recruitment and candidate experience ever. Completely unprofessional. Oh, and I still have yet to receive a rejection email even though its October right now already.

Question 1
Do not reach out to candidates and act like you are going to give them an offer when you are just going to ghost them at the end
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (New York, NY) in Apr 2021
Interview
Contacted by a recruiter via Linkedin. I responded quickly that I was interested and we set up a time for us to interview. 5 minutes before our conversation, the recruiter said that he had a conflict. I sent over plenty of new times to connect, nothing. Contacted the recruiter again a few days later, nothing. I reached out with new availability as now almost a week had gone by, still no response. Probably the worst recruitment and candidate experience I've had - it is completely unprofessional to be ghosting candidates, especially ones that the recruiter had proactively identified to interview! I withdrew from the process - not interested in working for a company that can't respond to emails.
