I applied online and received an email from a recruiter within a few days to schedule an initial phone screen. The recruiter set up a time, and then on the day, was a no show. I then reached out again to set up a time for the phone screen. A time was scheduled, the day of, the recruiter was 15 minutes late. When she finally called she was scattered, all over the placed, and asked me "Which job did you apply for?" After that I set up a call with the hiring manager. They were also late, and it was obvious that the call was just a formality because they already had an internal candidate lined up (this was alluded to in the call). For the record, I've applied for numerous jobs here. Unless you have someone who can make a personal referral AND has the pull within the get you to a hiring manager, your chances are slim. Even then, Gilead almost always hires from within.
