I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Geotab (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2023
Interview
The whole interview process spanned about 3 weeks in November 2023.
The interview process had 5 different stages.
First stage: 30 minutes interview with the HR/Recruiter where she told me about the role and asked some basic technical questions.
Second stage: Online technical assessment. 40 questions in about 40 minutes. With different levels of difficulties. It had logic, verbal and mathematical questions.
Third Stage: 1 hour technical interview with the hiring manager.
Fourth Stage: Take home code assignment. Your solution is expected to be production quality. I was given 5 working days to complete the assignment
Fifth Stage: 2 hours Final interview with group of Senior Developers. Focused on:
- Reviewing the take home assignment.
- Logic questions to see your problem solving skills
- System Design and Architecture test
- Culture Fit question.
** Feedback **
- Interview process was too hectic for me.
- Personally, I was very disappointed that after going through such cumbersome interview processes, I ended up getting a very generic rejection email.
- I got the idea that they have a very high expectation from their Senior Engineers, and needed someone to hit the ground running.
- I would suggest to the company to remove the take home assignment part of the interview process,
as that takes too much time from a candidate that will most likely end up being rejected.
- The final interview had 5 interviewers on the call, all on camera. In my opinion, that was too much people interviewing just one person.
