I applied online. I interviewed at George Washington University (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2021
Interview
I was contacted about a week after I applied online by a HR representative via e-mail. The rep wanted to set up a video interview (the HR rep and five others).
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at George Washington University in Oct 2018
Interview
I was notified that I was being offered a Skype interview with a panel. Prior to that, I had been asked by an admin to prepare answers to a number of pretty specific questions about my portfolio and work products. I didn't necessarily expect to get the job, but I did expect to be treated better than I was. After my interview, I got no further communication. I spent a total of about five hours preparing the links I sent and getting pre-approval from HR at my current employer to be able to share more specifics (if asked). The interview itself took close to two hours, including the time it took to get to a quiet place and prepare myself at the end of a work day. I was very disappointed that after putting so much time and effort into this process, I got no follow-up from the team whatsoever. Not even a response from the admin after I requested an update (after 2.5 weeks). This is the most unprofessional experience I have had in my job search. Though I have had other rejections, GW is the only organization that has given no response or courtesy at all.
