Initially contacted by an external recruiter, phone interview setup with Director of Engineering in Canada. The phone interview went well as I had very relevant experience to the position so an onsite interview was scheduled. I was scheduled to meet with a senior engineer and a junior QA (recent college grad). As I was led into the meeting room, there must have been a scheduling conflict as there were two employees having a meeting. After some bickering about the room, they begrudgingly left, one of the women actually glared at me on the way out.
The interview questions were fairly basic and the conversation was mostly me outlining my past experience with 21 CFR part 11. The senior engineer had just recently been hired and when I asked him why he chose to pursue his position, he replied "It's awesome!" Thanks. The junior engineer didn't ask one question until about the conclusion of the interview, "If you were a part of a bicycle, what would you be and why?" Seriously. It was a disappointing follow up to the stimulating conversation I had with the director the week prior. Unfortunately, the final decision was left to two individuals not prepared to conduct a proper interview. In hindsight, I feel like I dodged a bullet with this company.
