I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Detroit, MI) in Dec 2016
Interview
Given the location of out-of-state, a phone interview via Hire-Vue (phone and labtop camera) was done for the interview process. The interview consisted of two managers, the direct hiring manager and another departmental manager; two hours of interview questions were asked by each manager (one hour for each).

I applied through university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Detroit, MI)
Interview
Two days total. First day everyone arrived and followed by a networking dinner and welcome keynote speech. Second day were interviews and a jump start panel for entry level new hires. Interviews were broken up into two 1 hour interviews using classic behaviorial interview techniques. Very easy and relaxed atmosphere. After that portion we went on a tour of their facility in Warren. And that was that. They made decisions the same day and made an offer the following day. I've had interviews at a variety of companies from all over. No one was as fast with over 4 times the amount of interviewees to make decisions about.

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Detroit, MI) in Feb 2016
Interview
There were two interview rounds--one on campus and one at GM headquarters in Michigan. Both were composed of standard behavioral questions. The final round was different primarily in that the interviewers were people you could potentially work with. I just talked about my experiences carrying out class projects. I hit it off with the interviewers and generally enjoyed the process.
