I was approached by Gameloft for a Concept Artist position. The process started off well: quick initial contact, a pleasant first interview, and submission of my portfolio. I was told to expect a second interview with the Lead Artist as well as an upcoming art test.
Unfortunately, after sending my portfolio and despite several polite follow-ups on my part, I never received a clear response. The Lead Artist mentioned that an internal reassessment was underway, but no concrete update followed. Several months later, I eventually received a simple automatic message in English (even though the entire process had been conducted in French), impersonally notifying me of the end of the recruitment process.
This lack of communication, respect for candidates' time, and commitment is unacceptable from a company of this size. Ghosting a candidate after actively initiating contact is a very poor practice that I feel compelled to call out.
I strongly advise artists against investing their time in such disrespectful recruitment processes at Gameloft without clear guarantees of commitment on their part.
