The process was simple and efficient: meet with hiring manager, meet with panel, wrapped up with recruiter. Everyone was well prepared and answered all of my questions thoughtfully. Interviewers were personable and extremely knowledgeable.
We appreciate you taking the time to comment on your experience during the interview process. We’re glad to hear that it was a positive one and are thrilled to have you on the GRAIL team!
Other Recruiting Coordinator interview reviews for GRAIL
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GRAIL
Interview
Really really horrible hiring experience. Phone screening, onsite interview, then reference check. Everything went downhill at the reference check stage. After about a week of no contact, the recruiter set up a phone call with me. The recruiter told me I was not chosen because they had other candidates in the pipeline with more experience, and would talk to the team about giving me a contract role. The recruiter could not provide me with strait answer as to why I was not chosen for the full time role, blabbering on about a random comment an interviewer said, or them not being able to contact a reference, etc. The odd part was that I did not ask why I was not chosen! In short, I felt the recruiter was trying to come up with a reason why I was not chosen, but did not really have a definitive answer. Probably one of the worst recruiters I have been in contact with in any company.
I had such a poor phone screen with a recruiter from here. I cannot believe that she is even employed at Grail. She was hostile from the beginning and said “I only wanted to speak with you because I want to know why you applied for a coordinator role when you’re currently a recruiter.” Regarding my resume, she implied that it was spotty and asked in a judgy tone: “what do you want to be when you grow up?” After I answered her question of why I like recruiting, she said “part of your answer made me cringe.” Finally, she said she would get back to me 2 days later, and I didn’t hear from her on the specified day. As a recruiter, I KNOW that you don’t have to be mean in order to obtain the information that you need. Honestly, this interview made me cringe. I would advise to not start off the interview with hostility by 1) having zero small talk and 2) asking why I’m applying for a coordinator role and why I want to leave my current role.. right off the bat.
This interview was extremely unfriendly and rude, and I don’t even want to work with a catty person. I’m sure other recruiters wonder what I want to be when I grow up, as I’ve changed my career a few times, but they definitely ask it in a different manner.
