I applied through Grail's website on the recommendation of a colleague. Within a week, I was scheduled for a phone screen with HR. This was the first time that I was contacted for an phone screen and told from the get-go that they had no intention of hiring me, they just found my resume "intriguing." The HR representative then lectured me at length about how important Grail is as a company and how much VC they received. There was no invitation for further phone screen with the hiring manager or an in-person interview. She offered that they're growing so rapidly that *maybe* if I contact them again in a few months, they *might* have something for me. Because what person who has been laid off and has no income wouldn't want to wait around months for a "maybe" job (insert sarcasm). My overall impression of the company based on this HR screen was that this is an extremely arrogant group of people. I thought it was inappropriate to waste my time with this phone screen when they had no plans to go any further with the hiring process.
