The interview felt more interrogative than conversational. Rather than engaging in open-ended dialogue (“Tell me about yourself”), the recruiter went line by line through my resume, asking me to explain what I did in each role.
I was also asked several pointed questions regarding my layoff, which I found inappropriate given the widespread nature of layoffs in today’s job market. I clarified that it was simply part of a mass layoff and there was nothing more to it. When it came time for me to ask questions, the recruiter sounded disinterested and disengaged.
The approach felt less like a screening and more like an interrogation. The recruiter demonstrated little emotional intelligence, particularly in how they addressed my layoff. I was left with an extremely poor reflection of the organization.

Thank you for providing your perspective on our initial screening process. It's disappointing to hear that some aspects weren't positive. In our interest to Always Learn, we'd like to hear more. Please contact us at community@gojo.com to arrange a conversation.
