A Recruiter reached out to me, then an hour Call with CTO, I did 10-hour CAD Assessment, In person assembly assessment and finished with an In person panel interview. The whole process took about a 4-6 weeks
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe functions of the components from the CAD assessment. How would you improve it?
Thank you for your feedback.
We truly value your thoughtful approach to the process and the positive attitude you’ve expressed—even after a difficult outcome.
Candidates like you remind us why it's worth striving to create a respectful, meaningful interview experience.
We wish you all the best and hope you’ll consider future opportunities with GITAI.
They require an unreasonable amount of work just to go through an interview process. Their pay is also on the low side.
They require a portfolio on top of a resume. Then, a skill test, which consists of a CAD assignment without providing you with any CAD software. They recommend the trial version of Solidworks, which is limited in the amount of time and resets after a period of time. Before each reset, you have to save your files and download them, so you can re-upload them. Sometimes, the download doesn't work and you only find out after putting in a whole session's worth of work. You end up losing your files and frustrated that you can't use actual CAD software that you have experience with.
I would recommend they either provide a license for CAD software, pay people for the hours on the skill assignment, or just revoke their assignment entirely. Nobody has the time to dedicate hours outside of their work and personal lives to do an assignment just for an interview. This isn't school... Please pay people for their work.
