Given basic Questionnaire to answer, then some old-fashioned Excel test where you are given things you likely haven't been really exposed to, considering you are applying for an entry-level position
I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO
Interview
Met with a recruiter at my university's career fair, she followed up by email the next day asking for a cover letter, transcript and SAT scores. A few days later she scheduled a phone interview with me. Standard questions except one - What do you know about GEICO's standing in the market? Really threw me off.
Moved on from there to an analytical test. It wasn't anything too difficult, but some questions weren't easy either. Know basic excel formulas and it will make it faster.
The next step was a second phone interview with someone who actually works in the actuarial department. He was much more difficult to talk to than the recruiter and came close to being aggressive at times. Be sure you act like you are 100% committed to being an actuary and not considering anything else. It seemed like he wrote me off from the start since I said I was also considering other options.
I apparently got rejected after the second interview. Someone from HR called a couple of days after and left a voicemail saying he was calling regarding the application process and asked me to call him back. I called back a couple of times and left a voicemail, but never heard anything. Also tried to get in touch with the recruiter to see if she could let me know my status for sure, but she ignored my emails. Overall very unprofessional and a very bad interview experience

Question 1
(Analytical test in excel) At the end of 2006 we had 800,000 Policies in Force (PIF). 75% of those policies were Preferred (in one of our preferred companies). What annualized growth rate would be needed to increase non-preferred PIF by 40,000 policies over two years?
GEICO is ranked 4th in a state with 5% market share and is growing 10% per year. Allstate is ranked 3rd with 6% market share and is growing 5% per year. About how many years will it take GEICO to pass Allstate?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GEICO (Croton-on-Hudson, NY)
Interview
The process was quick and simple. Performing well on the excel assessment definitely helped move me along in the interview process (the excel assessment is more a pricing assessment). HR was helpful, too. Note: if you say you are proficient in a software or language, they will probably ask you some questions!

Question 1
Can you explain the basics of pricing and reserving and how they differ?
I applied through university. I interviewed at GEICO (Chevy Chase, MD) in Mar 2020
Interview
The interviewer appeared to be condescending the whole time. No feedback and no emotion. Unpleasant experience. But had to admit that I did not fully prepare especially when the interviewer asked me to name a restaurant near the workplace.
