Interview Steps:
1. HR screening interview to discuss my background, experience, and overall fit for the role.
2. Completed and submitted the assigned case study as part of the evaluation process.
3. A case study review was scheduled, then canceled at the last minute because they had already decided to move forward with another candidate.
The most ridiculous part is the feedback they gave afterward. According to the hiring team, my case study was “very interesting,”. So the work was clearly strong enough to receive detailed positive feedback, but not strong enough for them to follow through on a basic, respectful hiring process.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I had already heard from a former colleague about how they operate. I deliberately chose to set that aside and form my own opinion rather than rely on second-hand perceptions. Unfortunately, this experience only confirmed those concerns.
This process felt like I was kept as a backup option while they finalized another candidate, wasting my time in the process. Companies that handle hiring like this show a clear lack of respect for candidates.
