The interview itself is fine, not much to notate regarding questions. It was standard boilerplate, why you want Fox, why you want to lateral. However, it became strange when the interviewer highlighted “rainmakers,” emphasized that there are fire drills every Friday night where assignments are round robined. The fire drills happen so frequently that you always work, and there is no regard for other assignments. You are not assigned a partner, you are funneled assignments through this individual. If there specific type of case you do not want to practice and work on, they do not care. There are frequent mandatory weekend Philly trainings, when you’re supposed to be pumping out last minute work, for “professional development”. There is an expectation that seniors are to train juniors, and that time isn’t accounted for. The interviewer said your family is 1, and Fox is 1A. It’s a meat grinder. To boast about being “big law”, and pay under market is insanity.
