I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Forward Financing in Jun 2026
1. Recruiter chat (30 min).
2. Python test (coderpad).
3. Hiring manager (1 hr). Domain knowledge, some basic metric calculations and intepretation, whiteboard coding.
4. Take home case and presentation to hiring manager and director. 1 hr.
5. VP + Director (45 min), mostly BQ questions, also touches some domain knowledge.
6. Hiring manager + HR (30 min), mostly cross-functional collaboration BQ questions.
Question 1
Python focuses on writing functions on data processing; SQL is pretty easy, I used window functions.
BQ: tell me a time type questions.

Phone interview with HR. Followed by 1.5 hour timed 9 question SQL assessment test. These tests just don't translate to actual work with SQL. 10 minutes per question many having to join or update queries isn't realistic.
