The interviewer asked me the generic" Tell me about yourself" question. I started off with how I currently hold a role as Front of House alongside my degree. The interviewer then cut me off and then decided I would not be capable as a receptionist as I currently hold a job in hospitality. He instantly ignored all of my past experience in different industries and all of my qualifications. He decided that I am only capable of working breakfast and when I responded that I would like to move on from waitressing, he then ended the interview. I overheard other candidates' interviews with a different hiring manager and the other gentleman seemed more professional, asking multiple questions to get to know each candidate. On a positive note, I am glad I had this negative experience as I got my dream job in the end for a better company and probably would not have liked working for a company that does not take the time to listen to its employees.
