Interview
Very quick process. Applied one week, asked by EOW to phone screen. Did phone screen tuesday, offered a second interview later that day on Friday. After sending thank you on Friday, asked to come in the next week for an on-site interview and do a presentation of work I was proud of. The on-site was two parts- one where I presented, then another where I met peers on the team. Although they had said that time would be for me to ask questions of the team, i was not expecting for their team to ask pointed questions of me. I learned early the next week I hadn't gotten the job.

Interview
Phone interview with HR person, who was very pleasant and friendly. I then had a second round with 2 employees from upper management. This was less than pleasant and consisted of some conceding comments regarding if I thought I could "speak like a professional to clients", and "act smart". Odd! Also was told that the culture had gone down hill, so that's not exactly ideal to hear. Definitely wasn't a good fit for either of us, but it does sound like it has the potential to be a great company for someone.

Question 1
What's the hardest problem you've ever had to deal with?
We appreciate the feedback regarding your interview experience, thank you. Of course it is not our intent and have spoken with our team about it. We wish you the best.
I was approached on September 15th by a recruiter asking for my availability for a phone screening. After sending over a few times, I got no response. A few days later, I followed up asking if she needed more availability. Nothing. I followed up shortly after asking if she was still interested in screening me. Nothing.
Days later, I finally sent her an Inmail on LinkedIn asking what the status of my application was. The Inmail was never opened. I had no choice but to rescind my candidacy, even though at this point I had to assume the position had been filled. I find it incredibly disrespectful that Formative would waste my time and for an initial phone screening - I wouldn't have been frustrated and disappointed if they'd already found a candidate at that time and no longer needed to screen applicants, but the bare minimum they could do would be to not ignore me.
Not to mention, as a representative of the brand, I am getting my initial impressions of Formative from the recruiter who contacted me... and that impression is not good. Very disappointing experience.
We aim to have a great candidate experience and quick response times. We apologize that our response time was longer, causing you to question our brand and ultimately withdraw from the process. We wish you the best of luck in your job search.
