I will admit the hiring process is very lengthy, but I assume they are ensuring they are hiring the right candidate. Started with me applying received an email requesting phone interview with HR followed by email few days later for phone interview with hiring manager than a face to face with 1 manager and 2 managers over the phone who were located in different states. Than pre offer letter followed by background check. Once cleared was offered the position.It is a time consuming process but they did keep in touch the entire time.
