I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at First Student (Burnsville, MN) in Jul 2008
Interview
A little too easy. I filled out an application in person. The manager checked my driving record. I had a background check. Next I went to two weeks of unpaid classroom training and another few days of on the road. Once I passed the road test I went to work immediately.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No hard questions. Manager was kind, he got to the point wit background questions and let me know what the hiring process was. He was also clear about the ups and downs of driving for First Student. ( for example, it is PART TIME SEASONAL, with no paid time off.)
They will do a phone interview first, and they will ask some question about why do you want to be a school bus driver and what is your advantages than other candidates.

No interview process, just sign up and pass the background drug and physical test, then fill out paperwork and start training which they’ll provide transportation for and multiple choice testing for your CDL
I applied online. I interviewed at First Student (Phoenix, AZ)
Interview
They are very short staffed right now, so as long as you meet the basic requirements you will be hired. I was not interviewed, I simply started the hiring process.
