I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Fireworks AI (San Francisco, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Didn't have an interview. Instead I was give a take home assignment. Email from the Fireworks recruiter:
Hi,
Thank you for your interest in the Solutions Architect role at Fireworks AI. The team is excited to move your application forward!
As the first step in the interview process please complete a short take-home assignment. It’s designed to give you a sense of the type of work you’d be doing in this role. While the assignment should only take a few hours to complete, we like to give candidates a full 24 hours to complete it. Just let me know the exact date and time (in PST time zone) that work best for you to receive the assignment, and I’ll get it scheduled.
Once you submit, the team will review your work and determine next steps. Typically, this includes a technical discussion of your assignment with the hiring manager. If that goes well and there’s mutual interest in moving forward, the final round will involve additional conversations with your potential future teammates!
Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. Thanks!

Interview
The interview process consisted of a Recruiter screen (remote), followed by a hiring manager screen (remote) , then a panel Interview with stakeholders and team members (in-person).
The response between each stage was fairly quick, until after the panel interview. It seems if you're not in the running anymore, they ghost you.
Seems like a small close knit team with smart peers and good technical work. Had a couple of system design and coding questions. Culture can be fast paced and intense for some.
