I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Financial Times (London, England) in Mar 2014
Interview
Unscientific. If you have the skills it then becomes a popularity contest with a writing test. Expect some tough questions and perhaps a writing/editing test. A lot rides on whether you click with the interviewer so research the culture. Sought: Intelligent, confident, internationalist, fluent in economics, business and politics, extra language, technical skills, experience. Need to show good understanding trends and the bigger picture. Must be able to write.
First interview by HR. If you pass this stage, the editor will review your profile and invite you to an online interview. The next round will be a written assessment. Good luck
