Contacted by recruiter several weeks after applying. After a great conversation, the recruiter let me know that although it sounded like a great fit, s(he) had already met their hiring quota for the month so they were in no rush to make this a quick hiring process. Was informed I would be contacted within the next week to discuss next interview steps, and was never contacted. Felt like a complete waste of my time as they had clearly known before our discussion they had no current openings, and ultimately came off as extremely unprofessional and a bit scam-like.
