I interviewed with Fender starting in June of 2017, the process having been completed towards the end of July. I went through 3 phone screens, followed by a comprehensive panel interview (4 in person interviews back to back) an assessment in MS Excel and two video interviews after that. Overall the process was pain free minus the waiting period after the in person interviews to find out whether or not I had made it to the next round. HR was very responsive and helpful throughout however and in general I always knew what the next step in the process would be.
I accepted the job offer towards the end of July and started in August of 2017
HR and 2 first phone interviews: three 15 minute phone screens with an HR representative and 2 hiring managers (in that order, on different days) asking me some basic questions about my employment/educational background. Asked me how much I already knew about Fender's marketing strategy and why I wanted to work there.
In person interviews: Brought me in to the Hollywood office to meet members of the team i'd be working with and to answer questions for them. They asked me about my background in marketing ( I came to Fender from another MI company, so I had an advantage from the first) and why I thought I would be a good fit for Fender. They all asked me very pointedly about how comfortable I was with Excel, which to my benefit, I was pretty advanced in using. They also asked me about my interests outside of work, which for me was mainly guitar and music. Everyone was so friendly throughout even in the most formal of the interviews I experienced.
