I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Minneapolis, MN) in Jan 2024
Interview
Required zoom call prior to in person.
In person interview had “koolaid” vibes.
I applied for the agent role and they pushed me to disclose information about my financial situation so they could try to convince me to start my business under them. I didn’t have any insurance experience so I didn’t want to start a branch, I wanted to learn firsthand from experienced agents.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you have at least $50,000 in your bank account, you can start your own farmers branch.
Was basic and tedious asking me questions about my prior work history so make sure that I understood the job role. Overall it was not difficult to formulate an answer to the questions.
The interview was professional and conversational. The agent clearly explained the role, expectations, and growth opportunities. I was asked about my communication skills, work ethic, and goals. Overall, it felt welcoming, informative, and focused on long-term potential rather than pressure
Detailed with multiple calls. Explained in detail the onboarding and training processes including the financial obligations with starting an agency. There was a personality test to help determine fit with the company.
