Three, four or maybe even five rounds of interviews (do they even know?!!) to get through beginning with a recruiter sifting stage. Can't fault the recruiter, they did their best to sell the job and touch base frequently. But it seems the company themselves don't actually know what they want:
There's either a case of "we the business have changed our mind with regards to what we're looking for, so we're not looking to fill this position and don't care whether we do that at such poor timing without regards for what arrangements a candidate has made".
Or... They really just wanted a unicorn and don't want to communicate that.
