Was noticed by a recruiter from FactSet and was offered the role of Research Analyst - PE/VC An online screening exam will consist of basic accounting and finance questions, reading comprehension, and logic-based questions. This is a breeze if you know your basic accounting terms. What came next is the initial interview, in which I was interviewed by my recruiter. The recruiter asked me basic interview questions such as, "What do you know about FactSet?", "What does a Research Analyst do?" and all that. Afterward, the recruiter asked me technical questions that I am not ready for; which are related to Private Equity and Venture Capital. If you don't know the answer, it's best to come clean and be honest. The recruiter then asked me to brush up on Private Equity and Venture Capital because more questions will be asked by the team leader during the final interview. In the final interview, there were supposed to be 2 panelists but only 1 attended. Again, the usual interview questions and more about my academic background. And technical questions such as the difference between private equity and venture capital, amortization vs depreciation, bad debts, accumulated dep vs depreciation expense, financial statements, EBIT and EPS, unrealized gains, and common derivates such as stocks and bonds.
