I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FT Technologies (London, England) in Feb 2025
Interview
The interview was a 30 minute call with the HR and the hiring manager.
They asked me to describe my background and what i know about the role, then they moved on to technical questions
The HR person arranged for the interview a few weeks in advance and invited five people, howeer only 2 showed up. The HR person did not mention that this would be a technical interview so i was quite surprised when the hiring manager started asking very technical questions. In most engineering companies the technical questions are usualy at a second stage and the first stage they just want to learn about you.
The timing format was also too short to get a good idea about the role and also for exchanging information.
I would advise the company communicate better what the interview process is and the stages are so that candidates can prepare in advance.
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
Tell me about your background, what do you know about the role and how you fit in it
This is a picture of one of our flow sensors. Can you describe the flow profile around it? What aerodynamic effects can you expect? where do you think the sensor can improve?
Our sensor operates at low and high speed regimes, what are the aerodynamic challenges assosiated with the different velocities? What effects can you expect?
Here's a graph showing the performance of our sensor in a windtunnel for velocities of 0 up to 70 m/s . The response is mostly linear. Can you explain why for a specific range the response stops being linear? What could cause this?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FT Technologies (Sunbury-on-Thames, England) in Oct 2024
Interview
First-round video call- They will ask where and how you used Digital design, Analog design and FPGAs.
Second round answering questions on paper. You have to answer all the questions. Make sure you remember formulas from your undergraduation

Question 1
Signals and systems -- Transfer functions, Bode plots
Analog design -- ADC, DAC, OPAMPs, Adder circuit, quantisation error, Zenor diode
Digital design -- PCB design guidelines, I2C vs SPI
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FT Technologies in May 2024
Interview
I applied through a recruitment agency and was invited to a 30-minute online interview. The panel consisted of a representative from HR and two senior engineers. They asked me to introduce myself and provide some background information. Afterwards, they showed me a picture of one of their products and asked several questions about potential improvements to the design.
I received feedback one day later.
