FLEX Marketing Group interview questions

A recruiter reached out to me about the opportunity to work for the company. The interview wound up taking place via Zoom. It seemed to have gone well as I was told by a recruiter that I would be informed about the next steps in a week. Instead, I received a rejection email a couple of days later. This is a very unethical practice as I was misled into believing that I had moved on to the next round and instead the team did not want to even interview me. I did not appreciate being misled and my time being wasted.
