      AI Engineer Interview

      4 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ExpertVoice in Dec 2025

      Interview

Step 1: meet with architect for initial screening Step 2: complete take-home project Step 3: Final round of interviews (4 separate meetings over 4 hours) The initial 1:1 with the architect went well and they were impressed with my take-home project. I made it to the final round, a 4-hour sequence of 4 separate interviews. These consisted of a project debrief, a front-end technical interview, a product interview, and a final Q&A. Each step here went well from my perspective; I was even given verbal feedback during the front-end portion that I had done better than most of the candidates who were interviewing for a separate, front-end engineer role. My initial feedback after the final round was that I was the leading candidate, and then the company went silent. No communication for weeks. My recruiter and I reached out multiple times and were met with radio silence. Eventually we managed to learn that they had about-faced and disqualified me on a minor concern, despite the fact that I had strong evidence showing my proficiency in this area. I would recommend avoiding this company. It seems like they want the perfect candidate, someone who checks literally every single box, and in my case it seemed like they invented a new box to un-check. Judging by the interview experience and other reviews on this site, it's best to avoid ExpertVoice.
