I applied online and received an email within a few days to schedule a phone screen with someone from HR. I used the link provided to schedule a time, but never received a confirmation from her that it was scheduled, which I found odd that she didn't reply.
At the beginning of the interview, the recruiter proceeded to speak poorly of the person who previously held the position, listing all the reasons why they didn't work out. I found that to be EXTREMELY unprofessional. At the end of the interview, I was then asked where I was in the interview process for other organizations I'd applied to. I found that to also be extremely unprofessional and not at all relevant to the conversation or my interest in this position. At one point, I was also asked why I had applied to the position at all since it would've been a 'step down' based on my previous title. Since I saw the job title when I applied, obviously I'm interested in the position and listed job description. I shouldn't have to explain myself and any personal reasons why I applied.
The recruiter also couldn't even tell me what the next steps were as they hadn't figured out how many interviews there were going to be. And on top of that, I was asked after the interview for my portfolio, which is listed at the top of my resume and on my LinkedIn, so those must not have been looked at too closely.
