Phone screening with HR who was great. First round interview with hiring manager who also was great. Rejected. This is a very small company and they need to be very selective to find the right people. My frustration was mainly from the lack of adhering to their word on timelines. I also believe that while they advertise to look for people that have a diverse skill set beyond just the check the box candidates who can help elevate the organization with new ideas, etc. it was disappointing to be rejected for what seemed to be reasons where they are looking for someone to check very specific boxes without considering experience and value as a whole. Someone in another review insinuates that the company will turn down people based on skin color. As someone who is brown, I was given a fair chance throughout the process and felt that had I fit what NLign wanted for this role, I would have been offered the job. Not one bit of my interactions with those I spoke with gave me the idea that my race had any implications on how they were judging me. With this being said, a little research into the company and you can see that diversity is definitely a 1/10. Overall - great meeting with a team that you can tell takes pride in the team and what they've built. Small company that may be passing up on a lot of value by being too protective of going against the grain in hiring candidates that are indeed the type they advertise they hope to bring in.
