I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Esusu (New York, NY) in Jan 2025

      Interview

The recruiter was phenomenal, no complaints there. However it was very unprofessional when 2 gentlemen on the software team verbally confirmed and told me that they liked me and wanted to move me to the next round, if you are not sure please dont give candidates false hopes. I did not get the job and was ghosted for a week but I was then given an automated email that I would not be proceeding. They have 5 different interviews and I made it to the 4th round.

      Interview

First interview with recruiter was great, coding challenge was a Connect4 game which was also quite enjoyable. Felt great about building a clean code base, then just got an automated rejection a week after submitting. No feedback, no constructive criticism. Had a good feeling but dreams were crushed :*( Guess my code sucks after all

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Esusu in Aug 2023

      Interview

Don't play yourself. Even if you are in the bottom 50% of engineers, I wouldn't bother applying. The initial screen was filled with scripted questions and scripted answers to my questions. Interview felt like I was interviewing with an NPC at best who wanted to cram 30 questions into 15 minutes. Black and white questions about number of customers, MRR, monthly growth %, etc. were not disclosed or interviewer did not know (🚩). When I delved deeper into their business model, it seemed like there was a misalignment between the mission: "bridging the wealth gap" and how they are actually making money: renters who cannot afford to buy a home. Just like one of those start-ups that say they're curing cancer but in reality they're just doing the same thing everyone else is doing - selling 💊. Interviewer told me to read the role description for some more in-depth questions I asked regarding the role (more 🚩).

      Question 1

Typical initial screening questions about what you've been doing. Some behavioral questions about how you handle difference situations, etc.
