Indeed says they request I apply. They then contact me by phone after I apply. They request an in person interview for a first interview; I agree. I then switch to a phone interview same day since it was a first interview and I didn't think I was a perfect fit. The exec assistant says no biggie. The interview went fine, it was clear that I wasn't a perfect match, but somewhat viable. I pressed the interviewer if I was someone that should expect a return call or if I should look elsewhere. She said she was on the fence. I agreed, gave another small pitch for myself of why I was worth their time, then asked again. Suddenly; I get an earful of how I was clearly too busy with my current work to commit to an appointment in person and that they were looking for someone that wasn't so 'busy'. I keep my professional cool, and insist I can meet again any time they wish if they wanted to. She then snapped back that I was clearly too busy to keep any commitments. Interviewer was fine for 30 minutes up until that point. I was astonished at how fast this individual went to attacking me. I won that round by keeping the cooler head...but what ever happened to simply saying "we have lots of candidates to interview, you'll hear back if we'd like to speak again"?
