Everyone I met with was nice. I had 2 90 minutes calls with various folks on the technical side of things.
Interesting questions and a typical tech interview process but I was left feeling like it was not a good mutual fit. Some reasons:
1. During the interview no one really tried to get to know me or gave me the opportunity to get to know them. It was very formal. Too formal.
2. When I asked about specifics related to the product the impression was given that they can't answer that. I asked if there was any demo or video demo available publicly and you might think I asked Coke for the recipe for Coca-Cola. Very strange.
3. When I made the decision that i didn't think it was a good mutual fit prior to hearing back I sent an email thanking them for the time and wishing them luck. 0 response.
Not a good fit for me.
Advice:
Get to know your potential employees. It's important.
Be willing to be transparent some about your product, especially when it is already released. It's important for a PM to be able to know about the technical side of the product and the direction at a high level if they are to be responsible for it if offered the role.
