In the interview for a test engineer position, I was asked about my experience in testing software and finding bugs. They also asked me some technical questions related to testing methodologies and tools. I had to explain how I approach testing different scenarios and handle challenges. The interviewer was friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I felt confident in showcasing my testing skills and knowledge.

How do you approach testing a new feature in a software application? What tests would you perform manually, and which tests would you automate? Explain the criteria you use to decide which tests to automate. Suppose you encounter a critical bug in the software during the testing process. How would you prioritize fixing the bug? Would you handle it manually and report it immediately, or would you write an automated test to reproduce the bug before reporting it? Explain your thought process. In what scenarios do you think manual testing is more effective than automated testing? Give some examples where manual testing can bring more value than automation, and explain the reasons behind your choice.
