I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Energuy in Jan 2022
Interview
There were 3 stages of interview, all over video, and I gotta say either they were impressed by my resume or only interested in a vibe check because all three stages were easy and casual.
It wasn't until the 3rd stage that the owner revealed starting salary was 1/2 what was advertised on their site and in postings. Chris told me that if I was "motivated" I could make more, but also that his top performers had their wives helping them with reports and that my city was a 2-3 advisor city and I would be advisor #3. Who would want to fight for scraps like that?
I asked in the first stage what the outlook was for federal funding, and HR told me 7 years. At 3rd stage, I learned it was only 3 years.
This job could be a good opportunity for a young person. I enjoyed my conversations with the interviewers, and based on my research Energuy seems like a good company aside from the flaws in the recent recruitment push. However, as a senior level tech, it isn't for me and I feel early stages misrepresented the position.
The company was kind enough to send training materials despite the lack of a match. Applicants should be aware of the unpaid study period which can last 2-3 months.
