      Senior Instructional Designer Interview

      23 Feb 2011
      Anonymous employee
      McLean, VA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at Endyna (McLean, VA) in Oct 2009

      Interview

asked to come to "offices" which were in office space the company apparently shared with some other firm since their business name couldn't be found anywhere only some other company's name. met in lobby by individual identifying himself as the CEO, yet the company website identifies the CEO as a woman, interviewed in May, didn't hear from them AT ALL for over six months then suddenly contacted asking if I could meet their client the NEXT morning! and this is pretty standard procedure with this management. offer was over $15K below local regional rates for similar positions yet they act like they are doing you a favor, the benefits that are described during interview process are not included in the employment offer you are asked to sign, they discuss "extra" work they can offer you to give you opprotunity to supposedly earn overtime, but then expect you to use equipment from one federal client to do work on project materials on weekends for another federal client entirely! and they DON'T pay overtime or provide comp for extra hours required to assist with philantrophy work they do for some tech school in india, this male "CEO" promises hires that there is telework, parking subsidies, a 401K, and attempts to make the company sound very impressive, but if you actually discuss technical aspects of ISD process with him it is clear he has no idea what you are referring to... and seems constantly distracted. took job to make ends meet until another opened up... huge mistake working for them... they are sickly sweet to you if you do what they want, and incredibly hostile if you refuse... their client was great, but as a supposed company experienced in instructional systems and media development they were a total sham.
