Three video calls then an on site, four rounds total. First round HR, second round hiring manager, third round department manager, fourth round you present a PowerPoint of your past work to the team.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Electric Hydrogen (San Jose, CA) in Nov 2025
Interview
1. Screening call with recruiter
2. 1:1 with hiring manager
3. 1:1 Technical with team member, 50% discussion 50% very easy coding (no algorithms, allowed AI use, etc.)
4. Onsite, 4.5 hours: 4 1:1's with the team, including system design, 2 behavioral, 1 coding, and one with the hiring manager. The coding interview was strange, about 50% actual code writing, I was told to bring my own computer as it would be a familiar environment, but then we worked online in a no-compile editor. Finished everything in time, no real feedback except "yeah this works". Interview ran extremely long (more than an hour over), and one interviewer just ghosted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Design a system to store, parse, and review data coming out of manufacturing equipment (fairly abstract on purpose).

Interview
It went horrible, interviewer grilled me with a lot of crazy complex questions. suggest you prepare really well. First round went really well but the second round just went very bad.
