      Graphic Designer Interview

      6 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Glasgow, Scotland
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Edrington (Glasgow, Scotland) in Apr 2021

      Interview

It was fine, thorough questioning, two step interview. They ask quite a lot of personal questions about your hobbies etc. Got through to the final stage. They spoke to me about charity work and how much they do for others and how that is very important to them. This was also important to me as I had worked for a charity before, but their words didn't meet their actions. Despite telling me I'd find out the outcome of the interview the next day, they never got in touch. I was one of the final two candidates, and after a lot of research about the company and taking time out of my scheduele to interview, the least they could have done is tell me directly that I never got the job. I ended up emailing them a few days later for feedback, they ignored me for three days then sent me a generic response of 'you were unsuccessful, there were more suitable candidates'. I found that incredibly insulting as a professional, especially after going through 2 extremely intense interviews, the least they could do is stick to their word and give you the outcome when they said they would. I've never come accross a company where HR take three days to respond to someone? Even if a decision hadn't been made, they could have dignified me with a response and said 'a decision hasn't been made yet' it just came accross as rude and unprofessional, they didn't even explain why it had taken so long to respond to me. It makes the company seem very insencere, and self interested. Which is fair enough, but don't act like being charitable and having integrity is important to you when it's clearly not a priority when dealing with potential candidates. I don't even usually leave reviews on interveiws but this company has stood out as incredibly rude.
